Studio Foss is a design and branding studio based in London. We believe in a collaborative approach to design, working with our clients to truly understand (and challenge) their needs and communicate their story in a way that connects. 01. UDO Brand Identity — Since the company's inception in 2019 we have worked with synthesizer game-changers UDO on all facets of their identity. From naming and strategy/positioning through to the creation and implementation of their visual identity — encompassing print, packaging, digital, and product design. An identity based on a suite of ever-changing visual icons (or dancing objects) that evoke feelings of sound, movement and expression. We continue to work with UDO on new projects and products, so stay tuned for more!

02. UDO product design — As part of our ongoing partnership with UDO we worked with legendary synthesizer designer Axel Hartmann and his team on the front panel layout and design of the UDO product suite. One of the pillars of the UDO brand is creating a feeling of connection with the instruments and a sense of immediacy when playing — working through many iterations we honed in on a design system that strips away unnecessary decoration, allowing the player an unobstructed and intuitive experience.

03. LAND 2022 — Identity and design for an immersive site-specific performance at Bømlo's Moster Amfi on the west coast of Norway, directed and choreographed by Anna-Lise Marie Dance. To combine with photography for the show we built a palette of imagery of the Sunnhordland area gathered from local people, books and library archive material — as well as creating new imagery through illustration and collage. Painting a picture of Norway's Vestland region, a visual terroir that evokes the landscape so intrinsic to the performance.

04. Prototype Publishing — Prototype is a London-based publisher of fiction, poetry, anthologies and interdisciplinary projects. We have worked with Prototype on a number of books in their collection, working closely with the authors themselves to design the covers and physical forms of the books, as well as the interior layout and typesetting.
